Project Aims :-
To be a source of advice for young people
To break down barriers (religious,cultural,generational and gender)
TTo offer and provide choices and opportunties
To increase confidence and self-esteem
To broaden horions beyond limits of the East End and neighbourhood boundaries
To create a safe environment to experiment and take risks
To lessen negative behaviour and reward positive behaviour
To provide training and support to young people who aspire to work with children through volunteer and paid employment programmes within local area and beyond
To increase the opportunities and prospects of employment for young people, through training courses, events and programs
Project Objectives :-
To build:
an environment where the young people are safe, where they feel they belong and which they have ownership of and where positive relationships can be developed
To develop:
the project in line with the expressed of the young people involved. This involves, but is not restricted music, art, drama, sport and outdoor pursuits
To invole:
the young people in the consultation process of the project, giving them the opportunity to suggest ideas and facilitating them in carrying out their suggestions wherever possible
To explore:
the young people's views and concepts of community, citizenship (local,national and global), belonging, expression, labelling, categorising, stereotypes and issues of belief
To support:
to young people through transtion stages by helping them to access adive and help, while supporting and developing the skills and mentoring roles of the volunteers
To ensure:
the project is non-prejudiced and open to all young people regardless of religon, race, culture, stereotypes, health, sexuality and politics. The only restriction is age, it is limited to older primary school pupils and secondary school and above, up to and icluding the age of 25
